Farther than man has ever gone before!

NASA fulfilled that long-held dream in December when contact was made with an object more than 4 billion miles from earth. Back here on earth … it’s all systems go as FIRST Robotics students from around the world set their sights on the 2019 FIRST Robotics Championships April 24-27 at Detroit’s Cobo Center.

This year’s theme, Destination: Deep Space, will challenge these middle and high school students to dream big and and use their considerable coding, programming and engineering skills to accomplish their mission. Fueling their efforts, the FCA Foundation, the charitable arm of FCA US LLC, has committed $535,000 to help teams offset their costs and sponsor the championship in Detroit.

In addition to the funding, some 96 FCA US employees will also serve as mentors and coaches to help make sure these students blast off for a successful championship. The FCA Foundation, a FIRST Founding Sponsor, has invested more than $3.4 million since 1995 to support FIRST programs in the U.S. and Canada.
