Juneteenth: Where We Are Today

As the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the U.S., Juneteenth is among the important milestones for our country and the Black community.

Today, we reflect on how much has been accomplished since and take time to highlight the collective efforts of our people and programs that have helped push the needle toward a more diverse and inclusive workforce and community at Stellantis.

Our Business Resource Groups

STAAND

A critical part of our Company’s diverse infrastructure involves our 11 employee-led business resource groups (BRG). These groups represent a variety of affiliations across the Company and connect employees with similar backgrounds.

Our Stellantis African Ancestry Network Diaspora (STAAND) is a collective that works to ensure the Company achieves and sustains world class performance in all aspects of our business, with a specific focus on inspiring, educating, and developing our Black employees.

Benefits of BRGs

Career advancement is an area where BRGs are extremely valuable. STAAND continuously creates mentorship opportunities for Black employees to network and align themselves with senior managers across the company, while helping to keep diversity efforts at the forefront. STAAND also hosts a variety of events that directly impact Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs and youth.

Along with continued support from groups like STAAND, our Black leaders at Stellantis have received well-deserved recognition for their commitment to diversity and inclusion (D&I) initiatives and the automotive industry.

Our Programs

Some of our D&I programs that have made an impact within the Company and around the industry for Black employees and business partners include:

National Black Supplier Development Program (NBSDP)

The National Black Supplier Development Program (NBSDP) was built to support business opportunities and development for millions of Black-owned businesses in the U.S. and internationally.

Program Rundown

  • An industry first, Stellantis and the National Business League launched NBSDP in 2021
  • The inaugural class included 15 Black-owned business participants
  • Upon their graduation from the program, several participating companies secured contracts from Stellantis
  • NBSDP expanded in its second year, with automotive companies across the industry following Stellantis’ lead in the creation of similar programs
  • To date, NBSDP has helped Black businesses procure an estimated $100 million in contracts with Stellantis and is projected to reach up to $300 million

In addition to NBSDP, the Company has launched two new leadership development programs called BLAC (Black Leaders Advancement Collective) and LEAD (Leaders Embracing All Diversity) that focus on training and developing emerging Black and multicultural talent for future leadership opportunities with Stellantis. These programs are one more way the Company is supporting our Black and multicultural employees.

Our Priorities

The company’s commitment to diversity contributes to Stellantis being an extraordinary place to work and a magnet for people with talent and drive. The tangible evidence of the Company’s efforts in supporting diversity and inclusion speak to our success as a diverse workplace.

Here’s where we’re at now:

  • Increased diversity of our salaried U.S. workforce by 58% and leadership ranks by 20% in 2022
  • More than $4 billion in new business opportunities for minority-owned businesses since 1999
  • 2023 marked the 16th year our Company has earned a place among DiversityInc magazine’s top 50 most noteworthy companies for diversity, ranking 30th
  • DiversityInc ranked Stellantis as 2nd for our supplier diversity (up from 3rd in 2022)

  • Ranked 17th on DiversityInc’s list of Top Companies for Black Executives

(The DiversityInc. Top 50 survey has been the external validator for large U.S. employers that model fairness in their talent strategy, workplace, and supplier diversity.)

At Stellantis, we are continuously inspired to go deeper.

We are proud to stand with our Black colleagues, friends and customers to celebrate the important accomplishments they continue to achieve at Stellantis, in our community and beyond.

From television production to corporate communications, I've run the gamut when it comes to creative storytelling. I have a passion for writing, photography and video work, and there's nothing I love more than combining my passions to create the perfect message, delivered in the most engaging and resonating way. A storyteller at heart, I love following Stellantis and our portfolio of brands in North America and digging deep to find the fascinating stories behind the stories.
