Don’t FreakOut, there’s still time to register for Fiat Club America’s annual convention

Are you a fan of the FIAT brand? Do you love to talk FIAT? When you see another FIAT on the road, do you check it out and admire how the car looks and sounds?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the upcoming Fiat FreakOut is for you.

For the past 32 years, the Fiat Club America has held its annual convention at locations across the country. During this special weekend, members come from across the United States, Canada and beyond for a variety of events all centered on the iconic Italian automotive brand.

This year, the Fiat FreakOut returns to the Detroit area for the 33rd annual convention July 27-31. Events for this year’s FreakOut are planned around metro Detroit and the Auburn Hills campus of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

“Fans are excited to come to the home of Fiat USA and are excited to bring the vintage 124 Spiders together with the new Fiat 124 Spiders,” said Vice President at Fiat Club America Thad Kirk.

Some of the weekend’s highlights include the first “Night at the Museum” event Friday at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum. Classic and new FIATs will be on display at the 55,000-square-foot facility. On Saturday, there will be a car show and display at The Inn at St. John before an evening awards banquet.

While the events are unique, they are just part of the attraction of the FreakOut. One of the main draws is the diverse selection of Fiats that will be on display. In the past, attendees have brought an original Fiat Jolly, a museum quality Fiat 8V Supersonic, 124 Spiders and X1s.

Expect to see classic 124 Spiders at this year’s Fiat FreakOut.

Kirk added that, “You never know what surprise might appear.”

With the event now less than one month away, Kirk recommends those interested in attending the FreakOut register before July 5.

“Registration covers the event and meal costs. The club needs to submit those counts early,” said Kirk, who added that the last day of regular registration is July 5. A $50 late fee is added after July 5.
