Fans of FCA US modern muscle cars – the Dodge Charger and Challenger and Chrysler 300, as well as the Dodge Magnum wagon – are not shy.
The strength of that passion really hits you at events such as the recent Spring Fest 13 in Pomona, California, where more than 1,800 cars rolled in for the daylong celebration at Auto Club Raceway, managed by the SoCalLX club.
The FCA Product Design Office feeds on that passion. So it brought 16 new color candidates to Spring Fest 13 and asked the fans to vote for their favorites.
“Our Dodge heritage colors really resonate with our customers,” says Mark Trostle, Head of Performance, Passenger Car and Utility Vehicle Design, FCA – North America. “Our cars are evolving, and we’re looking to create the next generation of heritage colors.”
Dodge//SRT has history with eye-catching heritage colors such as Plum Crazy and B5 Blue, which are back for 2018 and now available for order on all Charger models and Challenger T/A, T/A Plus and T/A 392 models (all other Challenger models late availability). The Spring Fest colors were bold – displayed on scaled down bodies called speed forms – and so were the names. A few examples:
- Frostbite Blue
- Root Beer
- It’s Not Green
- Blood Shot
- Mustard Stain
- Sylvester

Spring Fest 13 attendees were asked to vote on these potential future colors.
Which color is your favorite? When the votes were counted, the Spring Fest crowd tabbed Black Eye it’s favorite, followed by Blood Shot and Frostbite.
The design team honored Spring Fest creator John Fortuno with his own color, Fortuno’s Gold, and brought along a design concept Dodge Challenger T/A painted in that color.
Despite cloudy skies, the color revue was among the most popular events at Spring Fest.
“The reaction to the colors was overwhelming,” says Trostle. “The names of the colors was also a huge hit has it let people really connect to the colors. Some people wanted the color they loved, right now!”
So keep watching, Dodge//SRT fans. You may someday be able to order you’re next performance car in the shade of Lemon Head yellow or Sinamon Stik red.
