March is National Women’s History Month, 31 days set aside each year to call attention to the accomplishments of women, past and present, who chose to step outside what many consider ‘traditional’ gender zones to follow the road less travelled.
Mopar Top Fuel racing driver Leah Pritchett has been fueling excitement among NHRA Racing fans this year, winning trophies in her class at the 57th NHRA Winternationals and the 33rd annual NHRA Arizona Nationals.
Don’t let appearances fool you. To Leah, she’s just another member of the team, dedicated to going fast and winning. She admits that she gets to take a lot of the credit, but she’s the first to admit that it’s the passion and commitment to perfection by her whole team that really drives her desire to race.
For Leah, her career isn’t necessarily about bucking gender norms. She’s busy proving herself right, instead of everyone else wrong.
