Ed. note: This marks the sixth consecutive year FCA US has hosted Test & Tune, an event that helps engineering students prepare for car-building competitions staged by the Society of Automotive Engineers. More than 250 students from more than 20 schools in the U.S. and Canada descended on our world-renowned proving grounds to test their mettle as FCA US engineers offered support and identified potential recruits.
For companies like FCA US, talent is key to a successful future.
It’s not enough anymore to just set up a booth at a career conference or distribute brochures at a job fair. Today’s talent market demands new and more creative ways to engage with, identify and recruit top talent that will keep your company and products relevant in the future.
Among the important activities are events such as Test & Tune. Because as technology becomes more sophisticated, engineering talent is an increasingly valuable commodity.
The key word is engagement.
To support this insatiable need, we work with scores of colleges and universities around the country, often playing an active role on campuses to identify that next Jeep® powertrain engineer, marketing guru or finance genius.
It’s interesting to note that more than 65% of FCA’s nearly 300 interns this year are aspiring engineers. Also of interest, more than half are from states other than Michigan.
Further, nearly 50% represent diverse communities (women and people of color), reflecting our Company’s commitment to building and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce.
So, no matter what you may have heard, talented grads remain very interested in pursuing careers in the automotive industry.
Spring is here.
Talent is everywhere.
The future is bright!
