Knowing someone has your back means a lot, especially when you and the family are hitting the road. Thanks to innovative engineering, the 2020 Chrysler Voyager joins the Chrysler Pacifica in earning a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
NHTSA’s top rating covers a full range of crashworthiness evaluations. Front driver and passenger side impact, overall frontal impact, front and rear seat combined barrier and pole side impact, driver side barrier impact, rear passenger side barrier impact, side barrier and overall side pole impact.
The 2020 Chrysler Voyager was designed with safety in mind. A peek under Voyager’s “skin” reveals a body structure that is 72% high-strength steel. Both the cradle and front rails are made from advanced high-strength steel and are configured to help steer crash energy away from the passenger compartment. Molded load beams offer greater stiffness and strength than welded components. And door rings, assembled using various thicknesses of hot-stamped steel, help maintain structural integrity in certain crash events.
Rounding out Voyager’s safety portfolio is a host of available safety and security features, like Blind-spot Monitoring, ParkSense rear park assist and Rear Cross Path detection, that help in avoiding a collision altogether.
