Regardless of how your Mopar-or-no-car passion was kindled, it gets stoked at weekend car shows. Shows are where fellow Moparians reconnect, tell the story behind their cars, trucks and SUVs, or show off their latest modification.
This weekend is one of the larger FCA-only car shows on the East Coast, the ninth annual Moparpalooza, Friday and Saturday, Dominion Raceway, in Virgina
Like any good enthusiasts’ car show, it started as a simple meet and greet in August 2008.
“Moparpalooza has humble beginnings, from about 80 cars and a way to get people together locally,” Moparpalooza founder, Paul Immo, told us. “It’s a way to meet new people and make new friends.
“Countless friends have been made through the event.”
Last year, 650 cars registered for Moparpalooza.
Since the beginning, the show has been a charity fundraiser, Immo said. In the past few years, the Fisher House has been the beneficiary. Fisher House is a non-profit that provides military families housing close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury. Since 2013, Moparpalooza has helped raise more $115,000 for Fisher House.
As with the past two years, Dodge and the FCA Foundation are again helping the fundraising efforts by matching up to $25,000 raised by the car show.
