While most of us can’t wait to say goodbye to 2020, the Ram Truck brand is focused on driving into the new year with an award-winning product portfolio that includes three Ram Truck brand awards, a total of 23 awards for Ram 1500 and eight awards across the Heavy Duty/Commercial Truck categories. Some of the year’s more notable highlights include:
MotorTrend’s “Truck of the Year” award. It’s one of the industry’s most coveted honors and also marks the publication’s first Truck of the Year winner from the same automaker for three consecutive years. Winners are chosen based on design advancement, engineering excellence, efficiency, safety, value and performance of intended functions.
The Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) honored the Ram 1500 with five prestigious awards:
- Ram 1500 was named Texas Truck of the Year
- 2021 Ram 1500 TRX captured Full-Size Pickup Truck of Texas and Off-Road Truck of Texas honors
- 2021 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition won Luxury Truck of Texas
- 2020 Ram 2500 Laramie Night Edition was named Heavy Duty Pickup Truck of Texas and earned Best Towing Technology for its 360-degree Surround View Camera
In November, the Ram 1500 was named one of Car and Driver’s 10Best Vehicles for 2021 for the third year in a row. Ram 1500 was also the only truck to secure a spot on this year’s list.
The Ram 1500 also scored the top spot in the J.D. Power APEAL Study’s competitive Large Light-duty Pickup segment.
The 2021 Ram 1500 Crew Cab, equipped with Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking and adaptive LED projector headlamps, was named a 2020 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The honor marks a first for a pickup truck under IIHS’s new, more stringent testing.
