Whether it’s maneuvering around bikes in a driveway, trying to align a trailer hitch or backing out of a crowded space, navigating a vehicle in reverse can have its challenges, even for the most skilled driver. Helping to make these driving situations a bit easier is the ParkView® rear back up camera.
The Parkview rear back up camera technology uses a camera, located at the rear of the vehicle near the license plate, trunk or liftgate, and the display screen, inside the vehicle located on the center stack, to assist drivers while in reverse. Once a driver shifts their transmission in to reverse, a wide-angle view of the area immediately behind the vehicle can be seen on the display screen, bringing any hidden objects to the driver’s attention. An audible warning can be heard when the vehicle is near an object and dynamic grid lines, if equipped, appear on the screen to help guide the driver while trying to park or maneuver while in reverse.
While the Parkview rear back up camera provides assistance, drivers should also check the surrounding area before attempting to back up.
